Malcolm Rifkind made one  of 'those' jokes today about Lords Reform, which Conor Burns (shortly to join the bank benches once again by all accounts) delighted in tweeting around...

Oh Malcolm. Oh Conor. You are members of the Conservative Party? Had you forgotten? here's Nicholas Soames in this morning's Telegraph, lauding your principles and what it means to be a Conservative...

 "...a belief in the British constitution, which sustains our government and society and respects our great institutions..."

And here's a definition of the word conservative...

disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc.,or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

In other words Malcolm and Conor..

If Christopher Columbus had been a Conservative - he would have been content that the world was flat - and he would never have set sail at all....
