Shirley Williams doesn't use an autocue...

Hats off to Lisa Harding (who blogs at www.spiderplantland.co.uk, twitter @wokingspidey ) and Chris Mills (twitter @cjmillsnun ) for getting hold of Shirley Williams' handwritten speech notes on NHS reform at Lib Dem spring conference (Chris) and then blogging them (Lisa).

It's a great insight into how a really experienced politician doesn't need all the paraphanelia that seems to come with the territory nowadays.

  1. She may be using her super-powers to view an autocue not visible to the rest of us. When she publicly acknowledged that NATO had been responsible for mass murder, genocide, the sexual enslavement of children & dissecting living people to steal their body organs she justified it on the claim that Milosevic had done the same and in turn justified this by stating that she had seen it when she visited Belgrade in 1995. Since she was separated from events she alleges seeing by 250km and at least 2 years she must, unless she is wholly dishonest, have something better than Superman's X-ray vision. This would enable her to read her speech and then go home, write it and set it up on an autocue so that she could have read it.
